Euro Car Parts - Cant they get anything right?

Options
Euro Car Parts have never been the fastest but the latest incident with them takes the biscuit.

On Saturday I phoned my local branch to find out if they had a washer pump for my girlfriends Megane. They didn't have any in stock but said they would order one and that it would be in on Tuesday. On arriving at the counter on Tuesday there was only 1 person serving customers - it was nearly 25 minutes before I even got seen to. Then, to make matters worse, it seems to part was not ordered in - it took another 20 mins to establish this fact! Furthermore, the person serving me was unable to identify exactly which part number should have been ordered. So all together it took 45 minutes of my time to find out they didn't have the part as promised and I was no further forward in getting the part.

This is just the latest in a string of cockups - the last 3 occasions I have ordered spares from them, they have given me the wrong part despite checking for the correct part number on their computer based on the cars registration number.

I tried to email customer services on the website once but their email address didn't work either.

Its a pity really, they do carry a lot of parts at a good price and they are just round the corner from work. Unfortunately I can bring myself to use them any more because they are totally and utterly incompetent.

I'd avise anyone thinking of using them to stay away.

  • I wonder if you have just been unlucky - the local ECP in Guildford are unfailingly polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Compared to Halfords, they are gods!

Personally I would recommend them from my experiences.
  • I think they should be done under the trades description act.
Any part for any car, ha. I wanted a rear exhaust silencer for a Fiat Cinquencento but they dont sell them.
    Nice to save.

i used to try and use them alot ...got to be such a fuss and the parts arent always great quality so i never bother now
  • So, I finally got through to customer services and had a bit of a moan. The manager of the branch I had trouble with got back to me and was very apologetic - he even gave me a freeby as compensation.

So it appears they do want to look after their customers after all.
