Talk Talk Still Charge For 0870 and 0845?

I remember reading that on 4 june or july, I cant remember, that talk talk would be letting you phone these phone numbers for free just like BT does. However since this date, every month I have been getting charged for these numbers so its still costing me a bomb every month as I have to phone these numbers daily for shops, job centre, banks, even the doctor! etc

I am on the highest package well i think its the highest package. The 1 that costs £10.49 Talk Global Anytime with broadband and line rental with features for £11.25 a month.

Should I still be getting charged for these calls?

  • For reasons I can only suggest are entirely to do with getting extra income from their unsuspecting customers, talktalk make you opt in to 'deals' like this. If you don't 'opt in' you don't get. (adopts ridiculously put-on Geordie accent) The correct way to treat its customers? You decide.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • So in other words, unless i ask to get these calls for free, i wont get?
  • I believe that to get inclusive not free calls 0870/0845 numbers you have to be on the TalkTalk Essentials package. If you have the package in its basic form then the calls are inclusive evening and weekends . If you want them 24/7 you have to buy the anytime boost (£4 per month).

If you post on www.talktalkmembers.com forum no doubt Emma will sort it for you.

Thats right, you need to move to the MyTalkTalk plan at £6.49 per month, the basic plan I am on offers free local calls, free 0870 and 0845 calls after 6pm and at weekend and free National calls after 6 also. I know you can add Anytime calls on and you can make calls at all times of the day National/0870/0845. If you make International calls then you can add the boost package for this also at £2.00.

Failing that, if you look on the site Saynoto0870 99% of these numbers have a normal land line no. You just type in the 0870/0845 and ask for an alternative.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I think you have to "Opt In" to get the "free" service. This especially applies to people with older (ie better) TalkTalk products.

Which -yes- makes it a rip off for the ill-informed, ignorant, elderly without Internet etc etc.

You have to be very very careful with these deals I find and it's worth taking a bit of time and getting the facts.
  • I guess I will need to phone them cos I already have the 24/7 anytime calls package and dont understand why am not getting the free calls to 0845/0870 Am getting ripped off every month!
