MFI washing machine problem

I bought a kitchen from MFI last summer. After a few months the washing machine started to become very noisy and vibrate when it went on a spin cycle. I decided to call someone out to have a look at it as it was under guarantee. I have 5 years cover through the ExtraCare extended guarantee policy.
When the engineer arrived he pointed out that one of the legs had come loose. I was aware of this because this had happened a few months earlier due to the vibrations. He said that the threads that the legs screw into were worn and that this was due to incorrect fitting when the kitchen was installed. As a result he said my guarantee was invalidated.
I have a friend who is a MFI kitchen fitter, and it he did the kitchen installation last summer. I do not believe that the washing machine was incorrectly fitted. The machine was working fine for several months after he installed it.
If I take this to small claims court, is the onus on extracare to prove the washing machine was fitted incorrectly if they want to cancel my guarantee?
Any advise appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

So isn't that accidental damage then regardless of whether it was fitted correctly or not ?
Here’s your guide to what extracare gives you
All repairs costs covered, Quality service from specially trained engineers, New for old replacement, Accidental damage covered from day one, Frozen food covered from day one, Friendly lo-call helpline, Transferable cover, Comprehensive cover for up to five years. With all of these benefits you are assured of unbeatable value.
Above info from here :

Sounds like the engineer was just being awkward and lazy.
Phone Extra Care back and give them dogs abuse !
p.s. Are you sure it's not replacing the part that's the problem but removing the machine itself as it wasn't MFI that fitted it. If the machine was removed the engineer would probably replace the part without problem.
This guy is having the same problem :

it's the same guy.
He has a problem with his oven that was fitted by a friend, then he has a problem with his washing machine which was fitted by the same friend. My advice is stop blaming MFI and change your fitter.0 -

The oven isn't a fitting problem. It's just the hinges keep going. It's a faulty part each time.
I'll speak to a solicitor about it. I think Extracare would have to be able to prove it was incorrectly fitted, and I don't believe they can.0
