We went and got some shopping there tonight - some really good bargains to be had
2 litre milk £1
2 hovis wholemeal £1.50
3 bags chicken breast £4.50 each or 3 for £10 - I got a total of 20, bagged them in fours ready for dinners
8 pork chops £4.50
you will certainly need to make sure you have freezer room - we struggled today, just had to eat the cadburys cones cos there wasn't room;)Fibro-Warrior0 -
Luckily there is a Farmfoods in the Ind Estate at work so I always stock up on my bread 2 x Hovis for £1.50 and milk 2lts £1. There are usually lots of youghurt good buys ie Ski 4 pack 69p last week. These are short lived though and can have short sell by dates but handy if your kids go through as many yogurts as mine do!Must learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p

The chicken breast in Farmfoods is very good quality, I find it a bit bland if you just cook it how it is, but if you boil it in water with a chicken oxo then you can fry or grill to finish it off, it ends up moist with lots of flavour.0 -
The chicken breasts-are they still the stuff that's full of water, salt and other gunk? Or is it just plain 100% breast meat?
Thanks in advance.
It's only a game

Theres a little gunk in it but is tasty, no beak or those wobbly red things.0 -

Not a great 'selection' but sometimes some amazing prices and random things. Recently they've had two packs of cauldron falafel balls and quorn grillsteaks for a quid, for example, and a while ago I was getting bags of quorn taco mince (had kideny beans and rice in, never seen it anywhere else) for about 75p. They always have reasonably priced quorn/ linda mccartney sausages and burgers in there as well, but don't tend to do much more.
Other than that they have a few other good veggie things like garlic mushrooms, onion rings at good prices, and the little bit of fresh veg they stock is usually very cheap but unreliable as to what - other than spuds - they will have.0
