Hi, sorry of this topic has already been covered but I wonder if anyone can help me? Ive just had a letter from Abbey saying that they are going to charge me £15.00 instant overdraft request fee and £25.00 monthly charge for using the nstant overdraft. I try my best ot to use this account anymore as ive had so much trouble with charges in the past and the only transaction thats taken me overdrawn is the Abbey charging me 0.04p interest. Surely they cant charge me £40 for this?

They can charge you for going overdrawn and by the amounts you have stated.
However seeing as you have received prior notification on your bank statement i would advise you to go to your branch before the charges come out and ask if they can waive them. Given your situation im sure they will do this for you.0
