  • All I can add is my hope that she will be OK.
I think I speak for everone on this site that our thoughts are with you.
I am wondering if you could claim carers allowance? It is only £53 per week and the carer cannot earn more than £95 per week but I am sure that this apples in your case.
All you have to do is be caring for someone for 35 hours per week or more.
It states that the person has to be severely disabled, but I do not know if your daugters condition satisfies this.
However, since 2005 people have automatically been covered under the Disability Discrimination Act from the point of diagnosis of certain conditions, including cancer.
Also, it may be worth looking into any award you may have of Child or Working tax credits - give them a call as there is an additional Disabled Child Element which is worth up to a maximum £2670 a year.
Once again, look into the blue badge and as others have suggested, see if there is discounted rates of parking at the hospital.
All the best for you and your family anyway.
