several months ago my CD player started playing up an shortly after refused to play CD's full stop. as it was 6 months after the warentee had expired, i could see a heft bill coming in my direction. i wrote to sony (the manufacturer in this case) and a couple of weeks later a cheque arrived from them for £60 (total repair bill was £70.50). considering the CD player wasn't even covered, i have to give it to sony....well done
