What can I claim for under Section 75?

Hello. I recently went on holiday and while away the airline (myair) went bust. We had to buy a new ticket to get back to the UK. I've asked my bank (NatWest) to refund me under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. They've approved my claim, but say that they will only repay me the difference between my original flight and the new flight I had to buy. Is this really how it works? Or should they refund me the cost of the original flight as well as the new flight? I just want to make sure I'm claiming for the right amount.

thanks

Yes, you are only entitled to claim the difference which ensures you have suffered no net loss. You are not entitled to expect the bank to pay for you to travel free.
