Refund or not?

I probably should refund and be done with it, but this buyer is really annoying me.
I sold an item (children's clothes) on 27.07 for £10. Paypal only. Winning bidder then messages to say that she doesn't have paypal and could she send a cheque? I can only get into town once a week to pay in cheques, so said fine, but advised her of the wait for a) me to pay it in, and b) for the cheque to clear.
4 days later she offered to send a PO, long story short, I finally recieved the PO on 26.08. Cashed it and sent the item immediately.
The next day I got a message stating that she wanted it posting to a different address than listed on ebay, I said no as, well I wouldn't send it there anyway, and I'd already posted it.
Last night, I got a message saying that she hasn't received the item. She has now asked for a refund via Paypal (that she doesn't have supposedly)
Any advice?
(Oh, I'm kicking myself as I knew she would be a problem, but only send it first class, not first class recorded, which I did mean to do, but forgot)

If your going to issue a refund I would only only issue by a method you received payment (eg Cheque ). Just say you have to and its ebay rules. I assume if she opens a case via ebay if you have no tracking you will be told to refund (sorry as I only deal with Paypal not up on ebay only disputes). So you would end up having to refund but I would stick to your guns over the refund method. As long as you got proof of posting you should be able to claim from Royal Mail0

If she paid by cheque I doubt there is little that she can do. You can't get a refund through paypal if you didn't pay that way!! I think Ebay can refund from their own pennies at their discretion. I think though Ebay are going to say its a private matter between the two of you. Especially if you sent it to her address on Ebay. She is just trying it on. Block her and if she leaves negative feedback just respond with the fact you sent it to the address she required.0

I think ebay have upgraded there dispute system I have read a couple of things on the ebay community boards where ebay have recently refunded the buyer then chased the seller for the money by putting restrictions on there account. As I said though I have no personal experience as I only deal with paypal0 -

Thanks, I don't want to diddle her out of money if she really hasn't got it. I'm happy to refund via Postal Order if it comes to it, I just wanted to check that no one would send a refund via paypal when that wasn't her original payment method.
She is already blocked from any more of my items (not that I have any listed at the moment, I'm a very sporadic seller)0
