Flooring height difference - what does this mean?

Given that we will have 25mm ply laid in our bathroom and out into the top hall landing, there will be a big difference in floor height between25mm landing floor and 18mm bedroom floors, 7 mm of floor plus carpet.
Trying to find a way of dealing with this and I came across a site that sold carpet/lino/wood flooring trims etc. One of them said...
• Manufactured from high quality long-wearing material.
• Finished in an attractive matt silver colour.
• Can be easily cut to required length using a hacksaw.
• Features high-grip self adhesive for long lasting bonding.
• Suitable for use with 14mm transition or ramp floor covering.
• Length of the profile measures approximately 90cm.
So does that just mean there can be a height difference of 14mm between floors? It's probably obvious but I dont trust my judgement at the moment. :rotfl:
If so, that would do the job wouldn't it?

Oh grrrr just wrote a post then closed the firefox tab by accident so start again...
We had this problem going from kitchen floor with ceramic tiles on top of previous floor tiles going to carpet in the hall.
this is what you need and covers a difference in floor heights of upto 20mm. I spent a long time looking into this at the time. Don't get the Z-shape one's - my parents kept replacing theres as it kept snapping.
You don't appear to have taken into account the thickness of tiles on top of your ply but then there won't be a huge difference between that and thickness of carpet plus underlay outside the bathroom.
To fit this one you cut to size with a hacksaw then would stick the T-bar (upturned T shape) to the landing floor (the lower one) - i think i screwed it too - with a set of plastic spacers fitted to the slot on it (choice of height of spacers). Then you clip in the top plate that goes between the two floors and whack it down with a mallett. On the side of the carpet there isn't any gripper on it so we stuck the carpet down with double-sided carpet tape. No problems with it. We avoid running over it with the vacuum though to avoid getting it scratched. Comes in different metal colours and also oak effects. I think we found them in Topps tiles as well but wickes was cheaper.
Hope that helps

Annoying isn't it? I had a rant the other day about the very same thing happening to me and one of the MSE bods said to clear cookies but I do that anyway and it makes no difference.
Anyway, that's the kind of thing I need. The bathroom to hall will be pretty much the same height as the carpet and underlay will equal the tile height I think or at least be close to it.
The main problem was the meet between the bedrooms and landing. The skirtings/doorframes/architave etc will all be oak so depending on what the oak effect is like, that might be better. Good to know there is something we can use though. thanks. :beer:Herman - MP for all!0
