It was that time of year where I had to ring around 9 or 10 insurance companies for a motor insurance quote, normally (due to sheer laziness) after ringing 10 or so different companies/brokers, I'd give up and go for the cheapest.
This year I managed to save a fair bit of money by simply entering my details on www.confused.com and hey presto!
My renewal quote was £332.00 underwitten by NIG through broker XXX
My confused.com quote was £268.00 also underwitten by NIG
TOTAL SAVING: £ 64 or 19.2% saved
If you haven't tried confused.com, please do so, as it will save you a fair bit of money. Thank you MSE!

Hi folks - confused is great, but dont use it as a standalone you should also use insure supermarket. It's all detailed in the car or home insurance cost cutting articles. If you follow those in detail it should help reduce quotes even further. See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance

Hi Pritesh, my husband used www.confused.com for the first time this year and it cut down the phone calls and faffing about considerably when our car came up for renewal. We also saved £70 on our buildings insurance this year when we used www.moneysupermarket.com. However, when we phoned our building insurer up to tell them we were leaving for a cheaper quote, they price matched the cheaper quote with no strings and no loss of cover. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. kind of saved money using this type of stuff before.. (monysupermaket) annother good one...
by getting a quote, and then haggling on the phone with my mums insurer..
tried my dads and it was quite a surprise... £1000 compared to £550 he pays within our club (he has a cosworth) so hard to beat being in a onwers club..
plus other insurers cant give him a valuation like the clubs experts can.. they see it as an old car etc and not the classic it is..
just a thought it this can help anyone see if you can join a one make/marque specific club.. could save way more than the £60 for 3 yrs membership (in our case).. plus we get some cracking days out going to club events etc...0 -
