Hi ,
Just a quick question, has anyone got the name of a H.I.P provider in East Devon thats not as dear as these? We've had quotes for £270,£331 &£350 (inc vat). We saw one on the net for £164 but its not in this area. Also dose anyone know how long they should take as we have been told differences of between 3 days to 3 weeks.
Thanks:beer:

For any HIP there are two different times - the time to have it market ready and the time to have it completed.
For the first, 3 days is entirely possible provided the Energy Inspector can get to the property within that time-scale.
For the second it depends on how long the searches take. if the local search is carried out by a private search agency it will still depend on how long the Council takes to provide an appointment/information. If direct with the Council then how long they take to deal with the paper search. Local searches can take anything from a couple of days to six weeks or more. Typical time is about 2 weeks.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0
