Roomsnet.com may have gone bancrupt

Just returned from a long weekend in Spain where the hotel would not accept my Roomsnet.com accomodation voucher on check in. They said the company had gone bancrupt about a month ago and they had not been paid by them for previous bookings. I had to pay the hotel in full using the same Visa card to get a room, cost me over £100 more than the original Roomsnet.com booking. I called Visa to ask about my situation with the original booking and on checking, they said they have no indication of Roomsnet.com registering bancruptcy. So i have now a long drawn out proceedure to claim this money back. The Roomsnet.com website shows no availability when o try to book a hotel for any date or any location yet, it is odd their website is still up and running even if you cant book there. A few similar situations to mine are beginning to pop up on Google search. Calling several of their phone numbers by the way eventually takes you to an automated answering machine.
