  • thanks Angie. It is my mum and dads phone, the landline so changing the number isnt an option but I will look into asking only to be contacted in writing.
With me I used the money to live and to be very honest I used the money to have a few holidays to. At first the loans replayments where fine as i was earning good money but when I got made redudant it went wrong. Now im working for agencys hence work is here and there. But at the min im at a company that is local, im happy and the owner does want to take me on once he knows he can afford to put me on the books. I have no doubt the court would make me pay back so much a month for a set amount of time which I wouldnt have a problem with

  • Just a quick question - If you do go bankrupt, in what way is your bank account monitored? Ex- If I was to draw £300 in one go would the OR want to know what im using it for?

  • just to reassure you that parents can be surprisingly supportive! I am so pleased i told mine - they obviously had concerns and lots of questions which was good as it helped me to clarify things. Obviously they come from the old school that BR is a stigma and it can't be that simple (eg 12 months to AD and you don't necessarily lose your house) but they soon came around to the current thinking - i gave them the link to this forum to get more reassurance and they now agree that we had done the best thing and been so supportive. They have made sure i don't feel ashamed or embarrassed in front of them.
  • Thanks wayfoward. With me still living at home my parents home cant be touched can it? My mum and dad dont have a will leaving it to me as far as i know

The OR is only interested in your accounts before the BR date. Their job is to find out the reasons for your insolvency & to check for reckless spending/fraud etc( in case they decide on BR restrictions later) .

Make sure that you use monies for essential outgoings & this purpose is perfectly OK.

After BR the OR will not see your accounts...but they will still need to know of any changes in income, lump sums received or changes in circumstances etc.

    Hope that helps.

Your first task is to seek advice on whether BR is an option for you.

  • not if all the debts are in your name only and you haven't paid them any lump sums recently.
  • I am only at work until lunch time tomorrow so I will ring cccs up and go though my situation with them
