Hi,
Im currently developing a news/review site so i am after a free CMS that will allow me to have categories and add the news/reviews to. Ive looked at Joomla but this is just to annoying.
Can anyone recommend a free CMS that i can use and customise?
Thanks:D

Drupal - not sure it does what you want, but is recommended by people I know0

Squarespace.com is very good.
I know they do a freebie less featured version but you'd have to sign up for the free trial and try it out.0 -

Get hold of a copy of Wordpress or MovableType - they're really blogging software but will do what you want.
If you really want a CMS try something like Mambo, of have a look on freshmeat.net0 -
Hack something together with https://www.fckeditor.net0

I'm using joomla! - it's excellent but your ISP needs to have PHP and Apache to get the best out of it."There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

This is the one you want ... Dragonfly http://www.cpgnuke.com/index.php
Easy to use with many built in features including a Photo Gallery.0 -
I use mambo quite a lot:

We used Plone in a recent project for a heavy duty high availability CMS system. It was reasonably easy to set up but not quite as easy to customise (since you needed Python, TAL and METAL skills). Check it out at https://www.plone.org

Another vote for mambo. It takes a lot of learning if you are only used to bloggers, but it's good.0
