Help! Epson Printer on Mac

OH has bought a new printer, an Epson SX200. I had serious problems with this starting last night when my mac just wouldn't recognise it at all.
I've installed all the drivers, when it searches for new printers to add it finds 'adobe pdf 8.0' it will not find anything named Epson

As all the drivers etc are installed, I plug into the USB and try and import a scan through photoshop which then tells me it cannot be started (incidentally, Epson NX200 appears in my scan from list) finally I get a message that no scanner is installed.

I'm at the end of my rope now. It works on OH's laptop, but thats of no use to me with a nice pile of uni work to print

Have you tried searching on the Epson Website for the drivers? Be sure to select the correct type - so Intel or PPC depending on your computer.

If having already tried to use the drivers on the website, it still doesn't work, try installing Gutenprint drivers - select the version from the right depending on your OS version.

It will not have all the features the Epson drivers have, but should allow you to print (but perhaps not use the scanner).

Thanks, I tried all that:D but I have sorted it now. After finding out it prints from Text edit but none of the CS3 suite (and that is almost all I print from) I discovered it was more of a compatibility issue with Tiger. I installed Snow Leopard and CS4 and I **think** I've solved the problem :D

    From here:

    "Automatic updates for printer drivers.

Snow Leopard makes sure you always have the most up-to-date driver so you can get the most from your printer. When you plug in a printer, Mac OS X can download the latest driver available over the Internet. And it periodically checks to make sure it has the latest driver. If not, it downloads the newest version through Software Update. Easy."

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
