Velcro glue marks on UPVC

I very stupidly put up mosquito nets, that come in a pack with velcro, on the UPVC windows of the conservatory and now I've taken them down (didn't really look nice, coming away at the corners etc) am left with a yellow glue strip all the way round the window where the velcor was. Can anyone advise me how to remove this please?:o Think I'd rather have had the odd mossie!!!

STICKY STUFF REMOVER - here on this site, but you can get it at loads of places. Works a treat, sticky come off really easy.

Are those the rubbish Aldi fly nets - 4 strips of mesh with plastic weights that attach into a header rail? I've had two now and given up on them! The plastic weights are useful packing material for diy jobs!

Currently still got the velcro stuck to the outside of the back door. The last time i replaced it (after the velcro seperated from it's backing) i stood there about an hour with wd40, white spirit, meths, plastic scrapers..i tried them all but i don't think it makes much difference what you use it just needs alot of elbow grease!

Mine not even as sophisticated as that just mesh and velcro!!!! But what a mess they've left. Have seen these as a good buy on some sites and they do do the job sort of, but woe betide you when they have to come off!! Ah well no WD40 need to go hunt for it. I'm in Spain but will be back in the uk soon, so get it then.:rotfl::rotfl:
  • a Halogen hob scraper, wont scratch or mark it but will do a good job with ease.
