Ebay rules question

I'm selling some tickets for a take that concert on ebay cos I will be going camping this weekend instead. i copied the spiel(description) from someone elses description which included the line:

ANYBODY INTERESTED IN MAKING ME AN OFFER FOR THE TICKETS, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP.

Someone has since emailed me asking :

Q: Hi Happy to make an offer for these tickets as i will be travelling up to manchester on Sat ...i would need these to be posted the latest Thursday. Are you happy for me to make an offer thanks jane

Before I reply to her I would like some advice. Am I breaking any ebay rules here. Is there some way of me agreeing to this and getting her to put in a bid and then closing the auction by accepting her bid so ebay still get their fees as I only accept payment through paypal or cash.

Any advice please?

You're breaking a couple of rules but if you've had no bids then if I were you I'd add a 'buy it now' price for the amount you've agreed with the buyer then she can take that option and the auction will end there and then.

If the buyer has high positive feedback then if I were you I would just do a deal outside of ebay altogether and cancel the auction saving you the fees.

You are breaking several rules and it is very likely your auction will be pulled.

Firstly, if the tickets are marked not transferable then you cannot sell them. Secondly if they are saleable you need to comply with the ebay regs for selling tickets and mark the face value clearly in your auction and your registered trader name, thirdly, you are offering to sell off ebay (which is what is implied by the term you pasted) and lastly you have copied someone elses auction.

Like Timmy says though you can add a BIN to your auciton now if you have no bids and sell immediately. The if the buyer uses paypal to pay you can send them special delivery on Thursday and they will arrive on Friday.

Thanks Soolin - new to the selling on ebay although I have done a bit of buying. Its sorted now, the buyer did a BIN and we're both happy!
