just recieved an electricity bill! urgent help please!

  • thank you for your replies....the main concern we have is that there is no possible way the meter reading could have generated the due amount as £1400, as i said i have a larger 2 bedroomed flat that has MORE electrical appliances now than we lived in the old flat and i only pay around £48 a month, based on the bill being £1400 that would be that the cost per month for the 12 months would be £116.66 a month....i think youll find that not even a 5 bedroomed house will use around that amount so i cannot see how this estimate can be valid.

    Did it have electric heating? If so the amount is possible.
  • If it had electric heating and the flat was new, the builders may have left the heaters on all the time (or overnight on E7) to dry out the plaster on the walls. £1400 in these circumstances could easily happen.
