Hi,
I've attempted this before, with useless results. I want to record to video from digital (FreeView) TV, is this possible? The digital TV comes through the AV channel, so what do I need to record?
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian
I have managed this after months of trying!
We only have 2 scarts on the back of the tv and one on the back of the freeview and one on the back of the vid. Don't ask me about inputs, outputs or av, not that technical, but thru a stubborn determination that I could do it, it got done!
I use the aerial lead in from the wall, thru the freeview box, on to the vid and then on to the tv. Also there is a scart connecting the freeview to the vid.
tuning in.. for this system to work the video has to be on.
The video channel is set to au or auxillary, look in your book for this, with mine you go one under channel 1 and you get AU. I tune this video channel into the freeview picture.
OK, so you will need the tv on your video channel, we use a direct channel number rather than AV, you may be lucky and get away with AV, I'm not sure. Our video channel is number 8.
So tv is on 8, vid is on, freeview is on and if you put a vid in, you can record whatever you are watching on freeview.
only prob is with this limited sys, you have to watch it as well.
On another system I am relatively familiar with, the freeview box had an RF output, again, check your book. You could tune this into the vid, ie on channel 6 or something and use that to record from whilst watching channel 1 or 2 or 72 etc.
But for this to work your freeview has to have an RF output, bit like a TV I think.
Like I say, I'm not a techie, but this works for us.
