live messenger help

everyone can sign into windows live messenger on the lappy i'm using now apart from one of my sons. it doesn't even come up with an error code for him it just makes out its signing in and it just goes on and on and when i click to cancel sign in everything freezes. i've checked the firewall,and i got him to sign in via his hotmail then sign in web messenger and its fine but he just cant access his msn/chat
i've looked on live support etc.. and just can't find a solution
any ideas/info would be appreciated

ps he can sign in on other laptops with no problem its just this one in question

Try a different messenger - Pidgin for example http://www.pidgin.im/

Theres meebo, ebuddy, and you just use the msn login to login in to your msn, if you google web messanger theres some more, ive used ebuddy and meebo before so they're safe

thanks for that just tried and still no luck it must have summic to do wi his account i think it might be best just for him to create a new one
