Balance Transfer to a card in another name

1. Can this be done?
2. Is it allowed?

ie: if my wife applies for a 0% balance transfer card can she transfer the balance to my Egg Money card? Do the credit card know the name of the card the money is going to, and do they care?

Myself and my partner have done this a couple of times and the CC companies don't appear to be bothered!

I do this all the time, hubby has an egg card but is NOT allowed to touch it (he will use it to get cash!!!!). His online account is a mule I use sometimes money goes in from one card and then out to MY current account. They can hardly complain as my current account is also where their direct debit comes from if he finds the hidden card!

it doesnt matter as long as the person taking on the 'debt' authorises it.

AMEX wouldnt transfer from the mrs' dad's card onto hers, but Egg seemed happy to.
