Bathroom stuff on Ebay-Any good??

I have been looking on Ebay at bathroom stuff. The prices seem very good compared with the likes of B&Q,Homebase,Wickes,MFI etc.Has anyone had any experience(good and bad)of buying this sort of stuff from Ebay.I am seriously thinking of getting a toilet, sink+ taps as well as a shower enclosure and shower from there but I thought it would be a good idea to ask here first.

Thanks

We bought a new Mira Advance shower last week from Ebay. It cost half the price of the same shower in Argos. It was delivered within a couple of days, and looks fine. It will be fitted later this week so we will see how it goes.
Also looked at bath screens which looked very good, decided though to buy from Freemans, using a 30% discount code found on this forum.
    Good luck

i bought some bath mixer taps, looked ok on the pic, when they arrived they looked poorly made, also fitted them, but very poor flow,i found out (the hard way)that they only suitable for a very high pressure system which the power saler dident mention, cost me £70 & threw them in the bin, i bought a pair from focus for the same price & no probs.rule of thumb i think,if its brand name & if poss you can have a look in the shops at the same model,go for it.

I bought a brand new mixer tap off eBay for only £10. It's high quality and works perfectly. It could easily have cost £50++ at B & Q. I simply would not know where else to go to get it for anywhere near £10. My overall eBay experience is very positive.

    Regards

  • I bought a shower enclosure and tray of ebay, I saw the same one in MFI for £500 and I paid £275 including delivery.

I fitted it and it's perfect.

I bought a modern kitchen mixer off ebay - paid £30 incl del - when arrived it looked identical to one in B&Q and MFI at over £100.
Fitted fine no problem - not sure about the pressure problem the other poster encountered though as I do have high water pressure so may have been lucky.

I bought a mixer bar shower from an ebay shop, it only cost £45 and its really good, better than Taskers, B&Q etc who are selling poorer quality ones for a lot more!

WE've bought taps, shower, shower rail & curtain, shower pump and roll top bath, all for a lot less than we would have paid in the shops (my bath could bathe a baby elephant and after a new paint job cost the princley sum of £70)
We couldn't find much difference in price for the sink and toilet on ebay or by getting cash back from sites to get them so got them from the 'proper' sites.

I would recommend asking the seller a question on the item you are looking at to make sure its exactly what you want, you can get the expensive brands at reasonable prices and with guarentees
