Query - Signed Delivery/Lost Post

First off sorry if i'm posting in the incorrect place, not sure where is best to ask a question such as this....
I recently (20th July) ordered a product from a website. It was paid for by CC and the goods were delivered by courier 14 days later. But they were incorrect. So i returned them via courier to the company who then in turn requested a replacement on my behalf.
A further 10-14 days later i hadn't received my order so contacted teh company who after a couple of days of chasing replied to advise that the product had been discontinued and would i like a replacement or a refund. As id already waited that long i figured wait and bit longer and get a replacement which was ordered and following about a week was sent by Royal Mail on Recorded Signed for delivery.
14 Days later it wasn't received and as such the company refunded me for the products.
The said company have today (1 week later) contacted me to advise the track and trace has been updated to show it having been delivered to my local delivery office but not my delivery address.
Where do i stand in terms of the goods and payment. Royal Mail class the parcel as lost after 11 workign days (its been nearly double that) so he has grounds to claim the costs back and i've already had a refund.
If the goods do turn up i would obviously return them, but, i mean legally who do they belong too and would he have any right to charge me for them if he has proof of delivery despite the signature is not mine and the delivery address is not mine either?

If they do turn up, they belong to whoever has paid for them. If you have been refunded, that isn't you. I am assuming you have contacted the sorting office ? (you don't say if you did).0

If they turn up then no one has paid for them. As stated Royal Mail advised that it was classed as lost after first 11 days and so he's claiming back from Royal Mail.
As for me i've been refunded for the goods. Technically if he's paid by Royal Mail and i've been given my money back either no one owns the goods or they now belong to the Royal Mail - god knows what they'd do with a car part though!
The sorting office weren't much help, they advised they can't comment if any parcels have been received with that reference number you'll have to wait for delivery and if not received claim for lost post. I tried explaining it to them , but it was like trying to get blood from a stone. Talk about moronic.0 -
