Which product did you purchase?
Did you jsut go and get a credit report or did you purchase the Equifax Credit Watch Gold 30 day free trial?
It should be in your account history what you bought.
Looks to me like you bought the wrong product which is why I advise people to pay £2 and get the statutory one.
I have just looked at "My order History" and it states product name "Equifax Credit Report™".
Thats all. made a mistake of buying through them the report is way too rubbish in comparison with Experian.0 -
We cannot be absolutely certain which credit card providers search a particular agency's files (lenders do not disclose this information), so both matter. That said, it's known that most use Experian, so that one matters more.I made a mistake buying through them. The report is way too rubbish in comparison with Experian.
The accompanying guidance notes are better too, IMO.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
I've heard Equifax are bad and Experian are good at this.
Still not worth it for £2 though IMO.
Some people forget and end up paying a lot more and others (like the person above) don't unchekc/check the right box and get charged.
Just pay the £2 and be free of all these potential problems.
Hi mate how do I request for £2 credit report as suggested above?0 -

Btw, once you have your paper copy, the CRAs seem happy to answer questions over the phone if you quote your reference number.
So if, for instance, you wanted to check that particular items had since been updated, there's no need to order further copies of your credit reports

I have paid about £5 in the past to get my "score" from Experian. Is this worth doing again or can I use the information from my report and drop it into a calculator to get the figure that Experian gets?0
-
The figure that Experian give you is a waste of money.
It's essentially a number they calculate to get money from you.
There is no calculator as lenders use their own and their secret, but it's reasonably obvious what it good and what is bad e.g. late payments are bad, lots of 0's for no late payments are good, so you need to read the report.0 -
I got a free Experian / Credit Expert report for me and the wife last month, cancelled no problem same week and used it for the full 30 days, nice.
I will say though in both cases me and the wife, only half of our credit card debits were listed and all of our debts were at least 6 months old. The one's that were listed were very accurate balance wise.
Another little sting in the tail was the dreaded follow up email 6 weeks later that implied that my score had gone from great to poor, obviously trying to spur me into signing up again.
The comment from customer services was "The email you received suggested you may wish to check your score but it does not imply your score is negative or positive."
Then why did it have a big graphic saying "POOR" credit score.
Many will be fooled on that one.
