What clothes to buy for interview

First impressions count in a big way so my hints would be:
Never wear a comedy tie, I have never hired anyone who turns up wearing one, clean shoes are a must, and if you are buying a cheap suit, take someone along with you who will be brutally honest, a badly fitting suit looks like a dogs dinner and makes a terrible impression.0 -
So i thought white shirt, black trousers, tie and black shoes - No suit.
Personally I would go for a suit. It is better to be overdressed than underdressed for an interview and you can always remove the jacket if it looks over formal. A suit can come in handy for weddings, funerals, meetings with the bank manager etc, mine has got a surprising amount of use.
There's nothing wrong with a bit of colour but avoid the "wide boy" look of pink shirts and overly shiny ties unless you want to look like an estate agent
Grey suits are also very in at the moment, avoid unless you want to look like a clone of everybody else in the waiting room. Standing out in a very subtle way can be good. 0
