What On Earth.....?????

Item Number: 9131137539

Is it just me or is eBay just getting weirder. One v3 razr costs £110 r.r.p, why will people bid upto £720 for a BARRED and USED one? ? ? Somethign isnt quite right........

It cannot be a mistake as there are TWO people bidding on it and they started from £600. What is this? ? ?

Thanks

Could be typing errors. Instead of bidding £72 the new user typed in £720. My other half did this one time, luckily no-one else bid against him.

Or they realise that the seller is hoping people won't notice that it barred (thinking he means unlocked?), so a couple of people have bid ludicrously high so that he fails to con anyone.

I've seen people say they've done that where the see a seller selling a picture of a playstation, or a playstation box.

Edit: Just looked at the auction, and he wasn;t trying to con anyone - he could hardly have made it clearer what he means by "barred".

A strange one to be sure.

Perhaps the bidders thought he was selling stolen goods so decided to ruin his auction.

Would'nt it have been good if someone DID bid against him because then his bid would be cancelled. Also, it cannot be a mistake as there was another user before him bidding from £600 and up. look at the item number and see if the bidding isnt dodgy. It cant be a co-incident that TWO people type in the wrong numbers atleast FOUR times.

Maybe the phone was special in some way, lol.

That could be the case, but thats got nothing to do with them, I can see them trying to help people out but I'de rather report it to ebay. Also, dont they then have to buy the phone and they could get neg feedback, right?

    Thanks MOE
  • There's a lot of mobile phones with ridiculously high bids. If you look at the bidders they will have just registered on the same day, all scammers asking for the phones to be sent to Nigeria. Very annoying for the genuine buyers/sellers
