Best deal for new kitchen - units & appliances???

Have moved house and am doing our kitchen - all needs totally ripping out & replacing. Only thing I bought from the last house is a washer and a tumble dryer.

Just wanted to run my plans and figures past some of you that might be good enough to give me your thoughts & comments and let me know if there are any better deals to be had out there!

Am looking at ordering schrieber units from MFI - did this in last house and was very happy. Am going to order tomorrow as they have a good offer finishing (30% off plus another 10% off).

Am ordering most of my appliances online - mostly seem to have got best prices from QED so far...
Baumatic Double oven £416.89
Baumatic 5 burner hob £159.30
Baumatic cooker hood £111.98

American Fridge Freezer via Dixons online £709 (with discount code)

Haven't priced my dishwasher yet but probably £250ish for a Baumatic or Bosch

Going to get one stretch of worktop from Diapol granite and want the central island/breakfast bar to be beech block (don't know yet where to get this)

also looking into electric underfloor heating to go under tiles

Any advice / help most appreciated as this is a big job that I am trying to get at the best price - without cutting corners too much on quality.

BTW - we will be fitting the kitchen ourselves (except the granite and the floor tiles) did it ourselves last time so not forseeing any probs!

Check the price of your units with your local branch of Howdens Joinery as they are part of the MFI Group.

They are supposed to supply to the trade only but am sure if you just walk in and tell them what you want you'll have no problems.

I expect you'll find it to be a ***load cheaper too !

Have ordered the units from MFI - its one of the ranges that howdens don't sell - apparently MFI do 53 ranges but Howdens only sell about 20 of them (although yes those are generally cheaper through Howdens). I did quite well in the MFI sale and also got a good deal on a Bosch cooker and hob (both for £600)

Off to search the web for prices on dishwasher, hood, sink & american fridge/freezer. Found a good local supplier for granite worktop - very reasonable.
