Late loan forms?

Does anyone have any experience of handing in thier means tested fstudent loan forms (for existing students) late?
I normally hand it in on time, but unfortunately the tax credit people are screwing me over this year and ive not yet recieved my forms to fill out, let alone my annual statement to help me fill out student loan form!
i estimate (optimistically) that i will be ready to hand in at the end of may/start of june. how late are payments generally if you're only a few weeks after the deadline? im worried i wont make rent if the loan doesnt come in time!!

I have consistently handed in my loan application forms (for last 3 years) late, often by as much as 2-3 months.
One of my folks is self-employed and as such, needs accountant help to prove their earnings. As this always takes time to organise and the accountant is rather slow, the forms have never made it in prior to the SLC's deadline.
A phonecall to them prior to the deadline informing them of the fact the application will arive, albeit rather late has always been waved off with a "thats fine sir, don't worry about it. If you get it to us before they start university, we'll process it. Thanks for letting us know".
I highly doubt they even bothered recording the conversation but I'd advise you to do the same. Give them a quick call, get it noted down and send it off when you can.
I have always received my loan on time and have had no problems.0 -
I've yet to get mine in on time, and have always had my first loan installment in my account on the first day of term.April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200

Just get it in as soon as you can. I did mine late for my final year and I got the first payment in November or thereabouts.0

They won't guarantee you'll get money for the start of the term, but you can apply up to 9 months after you start the year. So that's loads of time!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
