Ebay and Paypal Fees

Sorry if this is a dead simple question. I'm a reasonably newbie to ebay selling.

What are the ebay fees and what are the paypal fees. When I listed everything, ebay said the listing was free - but then I read another thread on here, that said you had to pay . Also, the money that's gone into paypal isn't the same as the buyer paid, it's less - so was that ebay that deducted fees or was that paypal - or do I still have to pay someone something else?

Sorry again, I'm sure for experienced users you must get frustrated with having to answer q's like this time and again!

Thanks so much for any advice given.

Ebay Fees HERE. Paypal fees 3.5% plus 20p of received transaction with a normal account. Ebay FVF you will have to pay later it is not automatically deducted unless you set up.

Its best to work out all your costs before you list so you dont lose money.

Ebay take 10% of the value of the sale. Paypal take around 3.4% (I think) of any payment received.

Ie item sells for £100, ebay charge £10, Paypal £3.40, meaning you have £86.60 in your pocket.

Note that eBay do not charge any transaction fees on your postage, but PayPal do. So if an item sells for £100 + £10 postage, calculate your eBay fees by the £100 but the PayPal fees from the £110.
