I bought an inspiron 1545 about a month ago from dell outlet. Im having a weird problem with it. When I try to type directly on the net, such as here, its a nightmare, I have to hit the buttons 3 or 4 times before it works, and I get to the end of what ive written and theres letters missing and no spaces where there should be. However, if I type into notebook or office or word its fine, so now I have to do that, then copy and paste. Its very annoying and obviously not a problem with the actual keyboard. Is this an easy fix or should I send it back to dell?

What browser are you trying to type into?0

Unlikely to be your machine. Will be the browser you are using.
Screen for a virus, trojan or worm! Use a decent antivirus software.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

Its windows explorer but not sure what version, the laptop is only a few weeks old though
What security software do you have installed?
Try running IE without any add ons;
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and then you should see a shortcut for Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Does that make any difference?0 -

From within Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons
You should now see a list of all of the add-ons that are installed.
I'd start at the top of the list and take one individual add-on that is enabled at a time and disable it. Restart Internet Explorer and see if by doing so the problem has been rectified. If so, you should look for an update for the add-on or decide whether or not you want to use it anyway.
If it doesn't, enable the one you previously disabled and continue down the list to the next.0
