Newbie seller problems!

Hi, before you all shoot me down in flames, I know I was new to ebay sales once etc, however, I have just purchased an item from a new seller, who is selling several fairly expensive items. I paid immediately last night, for the item plus £5 postage, item is not heavy and I would estimate would cost £2.50 ISH to send recorded or be sent next day special delivery.

This morning I get an email asking if I mind the fact the item won't be posted until 18th Sept!! No mention of this in the ad, just item will be posted in within 5 working days.
Yes I mind, I personally think this is far too long to wait and was under the impression that items had to be posted within a week of payment!

I have sent an email explaining this to seller, why don't people read the basic guidelines on this, i'm not going to but, I'm sure she'll be neg'd before even starting out!! She's charging alot of money for posting out over a fortnight later!

Apart from emailling her, theres doesn't seem to be much I can do to get the item sooner/? Any suggestions

I don't think there is much you can do other than leave feedback when it eventually arrives. The only thing I can suggest is opening a dispute after 7 days to say its not arrived. Can you not ask the seller for a refund and to cancel the transaction based on the fact they aren't going to post it for nearly three weeks and you assumed they would send it a bit sonner than that?
  • Problem is I would really like the item, just sent a bit sooner!!

There's nothing you can do but open a NPB after 7 days and leave appropriate feedback and DSRs after you receive it. You could always ask her to cancel the sale as you wanted it quicker. If she offers a mutual cancellation I believe you can still leave feedback
