Help Please With Sat Nav

I have bought a sony sat nav. My problem is i cannot get it to connect to my pc for downloads. It is saying "connection cancelled" I have downloaded the current version of activsync and updated usb drivers but still can't get it to work. I have also tried to connect via my laptop but still the same. Does anyone know what the problem might be. I have never used activsync before.

ActiveSync has a problem with firewalls sometimes. For saftey's sake disconnect from the internet and then disable your firewall and try connecting again.

If that doesn't work, as Aiadi has said, the forums on https://www.pocketgpsworld.com are excellent.
