Have used Tesco ones for previously Canon MP760 and they were absolutely fine. Bit shocked to find the Tesco ones for the new machine are approx £3-5 dearer than for previous printer and they don't stock one of the cartridges we need. Now looking for reliable online source.
Can anyone recommend a place to purchase them?
Only just bought printer and I know the use of compatibles invalidates your warranty but savings over the year (or even less I'm sure) will pay for a new printer!
Many thanks.

If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

I don't think that using compatibles will invalidate the warranty. However, disabling ink level monitoring does.
Until a year or so ago, the latter meant that you could not use compatibles because none had the level monitoring chip, but more recently you can get chipped carts which work just like an original one.
Of course they cost more, but still a ~lot~ less than Canon originals. I can't recommend a specific make, as I'm still on my original carts.0 -
You might like to try these people http://www.cartridgepeople.com/epages/cartridgepeople.storefront/48f1d63802907588273fc0a864c1073e/Home You don't state what the new printer is?
I've not used the Canon compatible cartridges so far, only genuine Canon. However, I've just ordered compatibles from them and yet to try.
I've found the company reliable in the past with competitive pricing. They're based in Jersey which hasn't been a problem for me. I'm pretty sure that most cartridges are sent from within the U.K. though.0 -
Thanks for suggestions - oldagetraveller, my printer is the MP610 (in title but not clear in my post - sorry).
Will look at your suggested shop.If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0 -
Using compatibles doesn't invalidate your warranty. It does make it impossible to claim however. The manufacturer blames the compatible cartridges and the maker of the compatible cartridge blames the manufacturer. You will never be able to claim easily and you should assume that if they damage your printer you won't be covered by warranty.
You should also expect cartridges to be much, much higher if you haven't bought any this year so far. I work in the trade and Canon have gone up around 40% to 50%. This does filter through to compatible cartridges too.
The ones you want for your new printer are also chipped. This means that there is a lot more expense involved in the manufacturer, pushing the compatible prices up.0 -
Negg, thanks for that. I understand what your saying about the warranty and at the end of the day, I still feel that saving money on compatibles will pay for a new printer should the need arise (which I sincerely hope not) within the warranty period.
I have frequently bought compatible inks during the last 6 months - as a teacher I go through masses of printing / ink - but I think the big difference in price, even with compatibles must be the fact this latest set are chipped.
Looked at website suggested in post #3 and can get a whole set for £17 - paid £19 for 4/5 cartridges on Sat!If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0
