What should I put in here that won't upset people.........
  • Just used this service, worked like a dream, our order was ready for collection when it said it would be and so much easier being able to pay by card online!!!

Will definitely use again. Well done Hungry House
  • We used this the other day and ended up being charged the full amount. We've never had an issue with HH and have used it before the discount code was available. I emailed HH and told them, however I still haven't had a response! Clicked through the link, the discount was showing up on the final bill, then we paid by card and were charged the full amount.
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

I have to edit my original post because while I think this is a good service, I've just placed another order and like the above poster when the final bill was shown I was charged the full amount even though when I submitted it, 15% off was included. :(

    hi all,

I'm Graeme. As you see from my username, I work for hungryhouse.co.uk.

I'm really sorry to hear that a couple of people had a problem with the offer code that has been running on moneysavingexpert. I just wanted to come on to the forum, get in touch, and to set a few minds at rest. We've had a fantastic response to the offer over the last few weeks, and I don't want a couple of problems to sour the whole bunch.

Our customer support team have taken a look into these incidents, and we believe that both customers definitely have not been charged the full price, and have received their 15% discount as they expected. Ammie, Carolin, I'm sorry for the confusion. Please do contact help@hungryhouse.co.uk if there are any outstanding issues, but i believe this has already been resolved by our customer support people.

The problem appears to be that a couple of the automated communications, such as our order tracking page that you are taken to after the order is submitted, and the email confirmation had not been written very cleverly when thinking about vouchers. So whilst the discount was shown in most of the obvious places in the shopping basket, there were a couple of customers who looked at their order in less common ways after completing the sale, and for those people the discount was not clearly displayed.

I'm very sorry for the confusion caused. As I say, we are confident that the mistake is in how the discount was communicated rather than it not actually being deducted. Our IT guys will fix the issue that you have encountered before we think about offering any further voucher style discounts.

Thanks to everyone who came and looked at hungryhouse.co.uk or placed an order. We hope that the rest of you enjoyed the experience, and that you will visit us again soon.

    Regards,

    Graeme

Sorry but never seen the point of these websites, better off picking up the phone and ordering direct with the restaraunt/takeaway.

The couple of times I've tried using a service like this (Admitedly not Hungryhouse as they dont have any places listed near me) I've ended up disappointed, hungry and had to phone and order myself in the end anyway.

First time was with a company called "Orderonline now" where I placed the order, got a confirmation saying my food would be here within 45 mins and then nothing for about an hour and a half, phoned the restaraunt to be told that they dont (and never have) deliver!!

Second time I used "Just eat" placed the order, turned up with a load of stuff missing, apparently Just-eat didnt have their latest menu and they had stopped doing most of the stuff I had ordered.

Save time and hunger pains by ordering direct.. (sorry Graeme!)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I often order takeaway online, often pizzas and never had a problem.
I've used hungryhouse a couple of times and had no issues (at least not related to the website, some restaurants are slow at delivering, and I don't use them).
I've not tried the offer, but will try tonight and give feedback.

I like using sites like this because you can find take aways you don't know about. For example two local restaurants, one independent and one a big chain, are included and I would have never known because we are not that close to them.

I also like using one interface (same reason why I use MySupermarket instead of ordering directly from the store).
They have all the menus available. Even when I was ordering directly from a place that used to be great, I had to look up their menus online because I kept losing them!

The reviews are also handy, as long as they are genuine, I will watch out for that, as there are too many sites that pay people to do that, or even worse fake reviews from the companies themselvel. Hopefully they are as I received a request to review a restaurant straight after I placed an order.
