sorry - there is no such thing as a "signed rolling contract" - a tenancy agreement is either an AST within the Fixed period as stated on the original agreement, and if it is not renewed then it automatically becomes a Statutory Periodic Tenancy ( more commonly known as a rolling contract) - no documentation is required for it to change from one to the other - altho letting agents will sometimes try to force you to pay money to change from one to the other

may i suggest that you read whatever you signed and come back on here and tell us what it says please - as this may alter the advice being given

It's definitely not a new AST. The LL did originally try to convince us that we HAD to sign another 6 month fixed period contract as the initial 6 months ended (cheeky)!

It's just a document that my LL brought round that states 'as you are aware your 6 month AST ended on 23rd July' than goes on to say how our tenancy will continue on a periodic rolling monthly basis. It says that one months notice is required & must be given prior to the date the rent is due. At the bottom it asked us to sign to say that we agreed with this. We are reasonable people & had no problem with this so we signed a copy for the LL, EA & one for ourselves to keep, although I believe we were not obliged to do this.

sounds reasonable to me - altho it has little, if any, legal status.
