Canada Trip - Travel Insurance

Do travel insurance policies cover laptops / digital SLR cameras or is it best having seperate insurance for these?
I had a quote for £49 from Insurer&Go for a 3 week single trip insurance to Canada, I noticed I can get it from the AA for half that price, is they much merit in paying the extra?
Thanks in advance for any advice and options

Travel policies have very low single limits for items typically £150 and will have a maximam total of all valuable items which are laptops and cameras which is typically £300. In addition they will require proof of ownership and deduct wear and tear.
Its generally better to cover these types of items on your home insurance which has much higher limits and pays on a new for old basis0
