QFT! I don't use eBay at all now, it's either online forums or word of mouth. Nothing else is worth bothering with.0 -
Marks and Spencers started off as a Penny bazaar, but they, like ebay, have moved on to a more profitable (for them) model.
i totally understand, as they're a business - i just hope they don't lose sight completely of how they began as they really are quite unique.
i personally though choose not to buy many new items off ebay. for example, i would not want to buy my new computer or another large purchase from an ebay seller - but that's just me:rolleyes:. obviously, many more people do!
but, like others, i will change what i sell and how i sell it.0 -
I also wouldn't buy a high end item from ebay and like you I adjust my selling model to fit the ebay profile.
The last major change though in my stock wasn't due to ebay changes it was down to the RM introducing pricing in proportion as my stuff was light and went for pennies postage, but with the new rules it had to go as a packet at it was impossible to flatten out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Scaremongering I think. People say this at every change ebay do. They have done it for years. There is a thread on the ebay business boards about how these changes will drive the business's away. There is also a thread on the community boards about how the changes will drive private sellers away. So who is right?
the good sellers both private and business will do what they have always done and adapt to meet the new rules. Others will disappear as they have always done. But others will come and replace them.0 -
Well, I'll be disappearing, certainly. But none of my friends family or colleagues will be replacing me after my many vitriolic diatribes on the subject of Ebay!
They know more about the dastardly evildoing of Evilbay than they ever wished to know, mwahaha...0 -

Except the buyers - who pay more....
....and Ebay who now can take 10 % out of your postage charges as well as the final price :T:T:rotfl:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !
