How Have You Made Extra Money?

Just wondering if there are any DFWs who work full-time but have had some good ideas in making extra money? Be it a 2nd job, selling things, etc.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what could be done, it would be great to share them!! :beer:

    i have just started selling things on ebay (made my first sale yesterday!) i decided that if i want something, i need to get rid of something else to fund it! I have a loft full of stuff I dont use so am going to try and ebay some of that too, now I am getting braver with it!!

    I am also doing a boot fair this weekend to make some more money! (to throw at credit card).

    * 2nd job
    * Ebay
    * Car Boots

    & generally saving money via this site (and others) on things that you would be buying anyway - i.e. getting money off, cashback, shopping around for the best deals etc etc.

    I know that having a 2nd job is not a great prospect, but if you want to speed up the debt free date, sometimes its the only way (I know its not always possible if you have a family/children), but I would rather be earning money than sitting around being depressed about not having any money & not being able to spend anything. There's only so much of staying in doors you can enjoy!!

    *eBayed a load of stuff.
    *Changed tariff on mobile, and also took advantage of working for a telecomms company to pay less for the same service I had.
    *Second job for a while.

    Nothing unique from what else will probably be posted but worked for me :)

    Ebay, Amazon and Quidco so far have generated around £90 for me. I am also trying out a cashback credit card at the moment. It won't be much and not for another year but every little helps!

    Have been selling loads of old stuff on ebay and taking things to a car boot sale

    Have joined websites like Ciao which give you money for doing surveys

    Changed tariff on mobile which has really paid off, spending £10 a month as opposed to £30 a month

    Yep much the same
    *ONline surveys & clicks sites eg pigsback
    *getting freebies thus saving money on what I would have bought
    *doing boot sale next week
    * made a couple of hundred on ebay
    *green metropolis book sales ( not much yet, probably gonna try amazon as well)
    * quidco

    Need a second job really, but theres nothing that wont be entriely negligible after tax, so its not gonna happen lol
    :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
    Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

    Do you still need a 2nd job with the lodger's income?

    I appreciate that because you get taxed heavily on a 2nd job it doesnt feel worth it, but believe me, it does soon add up!! There are well paid 2nd jobs out there (seen lots on gumtree recently for a sat job in estate agents). I cant pretend that it doesnt get me down some days, but it makes a big difference!! Its swings and roundabouts really....

    Yes I guess I do need the money even though Ive got a lodgers income, as that cash is being channeled into a) buying stuff for the flat ie essential furniture etc b) paying off house related debts, got a leather sofa amalgamated into my sig that HAS to be paid off before October and we are saving up to move.

    I looked at sat job ( was paying 6.50 an hour, so not bad for a part timer) but after tax I would have come out with less than 80 a month or 20 a day I just thought, well not worth losing my weekends over Im not THAT desperate....YET. But if I find something better, Id be happy to do it.

    What about finding something like bar work/waitressing where you can get tips on top? How about 1 eve or 2 a week rather than giving up a sat? I cant believe I did so many hours at my last 2nd job to be honest, so dont blame you for a second!! :rotfl:

    same as others really,
    over £300 from selling stuff on ebay,£130 so far from quidco from applying for new credit card, free dvds, bingo sites etc( although you do have to fund the bingo with £10 but get £25-£30 back),survey sites to get vouchers, and then use them or sell them on ebay!
