Hi
I have a CTF with Nationwide for my daughter, I need to move it for it to get some growth (once the market dips), I've cut it down to L&G's FTSE Tracker CTF (through Nationwide [+28.70% over 1 year] ) or HSBC's UK Growth & Income CTF (33.82% over 1 year), obviously these figures are distorted as the FTSE is high at the minute but is shows they both do well when the market is on the up and they will both generally track the FTSE, the HSBC one being marginally more volatile.
Anyway, my query is, if I move my daughters money in to either of these, does anyone know if they have a cash facility also, IE HSBC over one year is 33.82% and the market is likely to have a dip over the summer so if I had done this a year ago I would be thinking about cashing out the profits until the market dips and re-investing, so if they provide a cash facility it would be easy to do as it would effectively be a fund switch. However if they don't then I would be having to actually transfer the CTF in its entirety between Investment CTFs and Cash CTFs if I want to proactively manage the account and ensure she is getting the same advantage that I do with say my ISA.
Thanks

Hello, when I was 1 my father was killed in an accident, he was in the Merchant Navy and drowned. My mother, whom has made my life hell, spoke of a trust fund that I was supposed to get when I was 18, I am now 47 and have never seen a penny. My question is how do I go about finding out about this fund. If anyone can point me in some sort of direction I would be very grateful as I have a daughter who will be 17 this year and would like to be able to give her a start I never had. Many thanks0

Little bit off topic but may be find the solicitor who handled your dads will? Some family members may be aware of who that was. Alternatively, try googling 'unclaimed assets UK' (I guess you may start stumbling across commercial companies who would charge for the service though).0

Hi there, first time using a forum...
I have a CTF set up already with a rather low interest rate, if I switch and then keep switching to follow the good rates will it cost to do this? It is a savings account not a shares account so surely not:question:huh:0 -
Just would be nice to have a top self select investment CTFs with charges etc. on. Seeings as you are already making other provisions for your children why not view the CTF money as a freebee and take some risks with it? You never know it may pay off.0

Hi,
This may have been covered elsewhere on this forum by now but the Government has announced that transfers from CTFs to Junior ISAs will be allowed from 2015.

Hi, I have recently had a baby boy and am looking to open an account to save for him for when he is older. Ideally I'd like a good interest rate but also for him not to have instant access to the cash until he is 18 or 21. Any advice on what banks are best?
Many thanks.0
