Fairly new ebayer bids on item starting at 99p. Sends message asking that it's sent today as she needs it by saturday. I replied saying I couldn't do that as the auction doesn't finish til next Monday... no reply...

Oh yes, as soon as they set off my 'oh good grief' meter I delete and block them. I'd rather lose a sale than get involved in a hassle when things don't go the way my buyer wants.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wait 'til December, then you'll see this kind of thing in huge numbers. "I want it by Christmas. I know it's the 23rd today, but I still need it before Cristmas Day".
It's amazing how many people have birthday's sneak up on them as well. It's the same day as last year, couldn't you plan slightly ahead!!!
You're lucky it's an auction, not a BuyItNow. We have to deal with the kind of buyers that contact us after paying saying "We need it by Monday" after paying on Saturday night...Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

I had a woman message me the other week demanding that I post the item that day, as she was going on holiday. Which is fair enough, but the item was a blouse (the type you'd wear to work, and not needed on holiday!) which could easily fit through the letterbox while she was away. Lets just hope she wasnt going on a very dull holiday where she needed to wear office-wear!0

Oh, I don't sell in December any more. Never had any demands for 'santa delivery', but lost 2 parcels one year and the post office queues are enough to put me off.
I think it would have been better if it was a BIN though, my buyer is clearly unaware of how auctions work, and maybe thinks by placing a bid she has 'won' it...0 -
Most buyers ask if you can post for a certain date if thats what they want before bidding.
I explain I will send the next day after payment clears or if they need for a certain date they need to purchase special delivery. That sorts out the serious buyers.0
