Hi,
I need to convert my wma files to mp3 format as my new cars stereo only supports mp3  I used to be able to do this using Sound Forge on my old computer (xp) but it won't load onto my laptop which has vista :rolleyes::rolleyes:
Can anyone recommend freeware that will do this or how to get my laptop to load Sound Forge?
Thanks

Yes, WinFF will do it. One of it's options is 'MP3 (Audio Only)'.Is there anything else?
It's a free download from here:-http://winff.org/html_new/Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

I use this you can trial it, its a good CD ripper and use lame the best mp3 encoder. I dont buy mp3's because I rip my own from cd

By the way converting one format to the other you will loose some quality but that varies depending on what codes/compression has been used0 -

It's never ideal but for the car I can cope with losing some of the sound quality - especially over long journeys when ease of comfort wins. Having several hundred tracks on one cd is far preferable to fiddling around with jewel cases and changing cds. However, when it comes to home listening I prefer the originals0 -
