Treviso, Venice, Lido Venice - Some Questions

Does Treviso airport have a train station attached, or would we be better to take the bus?
Is Mestre Train station very big, would it be difficult to find your platform?
Is it cheaper to book your train tickets online in advance?
If anyone has stayed in Villiagio Marco Polo, is it near to Bibione train station? Also what did you think of the place?
For the last couple of days we were thinking of staying in Lido venice - has anyone any recommendations for hotels 3star plus, near public transport.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I've haven't been to venice yet but have done a lot of research and found https://www.venere.com really for hotels as it has really good maps and lots of helpful reviews, so you can most of the info you need before booking anything. Plus I know of a 4% discount code: BK5HX8W (and you don't need to pay in advance)

    Hope that helps

hi, have just returned (yesterday) from Venice though we flew into Marco Polo. There are buses from either airport that take you immediately into Piazzale Roma (that's the last parking area) before you have to get the water taxis.

Have a look at www.tripadvisor.com to see what b&b's / hotels are really like before you book and then as Herman suggests, Venere is a good booking agency.

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187872-d234841-Reviews-Hotel_Marco_Polo-Vicenza_Veneto.html gives a review of the Vicenza Veneto

So much easier taking the bus from Treviso Airport into Venice, it is no cheaper buying ticket online from Terravision but there is always a queue at the ticket booth, just inside the exit. Buses meet every plane. There are two stops."Venice Mestre" where there are plenty of hotels on the mainland and then it crosses the bridge over to Venice island stopping at the bus station in Piazza Roma. Walk straight ahead away from the road and you will come to the Lagoon. You will need to buy a boat ticket, one two or three days. I always buy mine from the Railway Station which is a huge building over to the left. Make your way there as most boats stop there are there is a very helpful tourist information bureau and ticket booth for the "vaporetto". The Venere website often has very good deals for hotels on Venice Island and the Lido. The vaporetto is very reliable. No.82 is the best ride ever, takes you right around the lagoon. You can also get direct vaporetto's to Murano and Burano all included in your day pass. If you stay on Venice Island it is nice to go to eat on the Lido in the evening - very quiet this time of year. Have a lovely time Venice is truly wonderful.

Hmmm the food the atmosphere the place, wonderful. And only 5½ hours drive for me :)
In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?
