Which free email account does not delete your mail if not used for a while?

Use hotmail for my emails. Use it daily. Am i right in saying that if you don't use if for so many days (don't know how many) it will delete your email? How many days are we talking about? Is there any free email accounts which will not delete your email if you don't use it for a while? Just thinking that if one becomes ill and is in the hospital for a while or goes abroad for a month that he will not loose any valuable emails.

Is there a way of saving the emails onto your hard drive?

I have a yahoo account that I never look at , and any time I go in (once in a blue moon) its all still there

I had an old yahoo account, made a newone cause it was so old I think every company in the world knew it and was spammed with 1000+ mails a day on it. I logged in after about 1 year all the mails gone.
But Gmail is the way to go. If you set up filters and labels it will really enhance your mail eggperience.
