Hi,
How do i fix a new light to the wires that are already there, there are two 2 core flexs. Now i need a 3 core flex for the new lamp, but the old lamp that i took off also needed 3 cos it was earthed. The solution appeared to be,from one flex use the neutral and live, then from the other flex use either the neutral or live with a connector block and connect this to the earth wire on the lamp.
Is this ,was this right.? Confused.....

NO definitely not right. Under no circumstances connect anything other then clearly identifiable earth wire to earth.
Consult someone appropriate. You appear not to know what you are doing.0 -

Outside lights should not connected by flex full stop.0
