Phone insurance company charged me twice in one month

Hello.

I currently have a contract with Policy Administration Services Limited, the insurance company for Phones 4 U in England.

I rang them on the 4th July to request to change my contract from a £9.99 p/m premium contract, to a £5.99 p/m contract. They allowed me to do this with no hassles. However on the 9th of July, i was charged £9.99 for a premium contract, which i had just left. They then charged me £5.99 on the 24th July, for the contract i entered on the 4th July.

This, as you can clearly see means they charged me twice in one month, and one of them, was for a contract that they had allowed me to exit with no problems.
I rang them on the 25th of July to question this decision, and was told that i would of been informed by the person i spoke to on the 4th July that the £9.99 payment would have already been applied for by Direct Debit. I was not informed of this, which i believe therefore, means they owe me £9.99.

I was told i would be rang back within 72 hours.

28th August. No Phonecall since the 25th July. I ring again. This time they are saying that their manager needs to listen to my call made on the 4th July. I have no problem with this, as i know that i am fully in the right.
However, i never gave my permission for a recording of my voice to be used in this manner, only for training and quality purposes. Still more about the money though.
I was told i'd be rang back within 72 hours.

1st September. No phonecall. I ring back, and tell them that i am now in charge of what happens. I tell them that i have applied a £10 per day charge of interest from the 25th July up until now, however, because i am a kind person, if i am paid within 7 days, i will accept £100 instead of £379.99 (I'm about to start University, i really can't afford a legal battle, and £100 would do me nicely.)

The person i speak to on the phone tells me i was misadvised by Phones 4 u, and that everyone is charged on the 9th July. I wasn't told this in the previous calls, and Phones 4 U never mentioned it to me.

And as it's the first of September, i've now decided that instead of a £10 per day interest charge, i'm instead going to charge 10% a day interest. They previously owed me £370, so now the interest for tomorrow will be £37, taking it up to £407 and so forth.

They did not argue with this, and now i am awaiting a phonecall from the manager.

I just would like to know, if they refuse to pay my original charge, phone call charges and interest, what can i do to retrieve it from them? As i previously stated, i can't afford a legal campaign, and i believe there is a limit on the amount of money you can take someone to small claims court to retrieve.

Any advice on any aspect of this would be tremendous, thankyou very much.

P.S, sorry if this is in the wrong section
