Old external Hard drives

I have a load of old external hard drives ranging from 10gb to 120gb etc and was wondering if anyone had any idea how I can make some money from them? Some work and some don't. I doubt I would get much for them on E-bay plus I don't think I would be confident selling them as workable drives as some may have bad sectors, so I was wondering if there were any organisations that pay money for old drives (IDE/SATA) for both laptop and desktop?

Hard disks that small that can't even be guaranteed working will be worth less than the cost of posting them anywhere.

Add to that the risk that you may have left some personal data on them which is still current and you have a problem rather than an asset.

Agreed - it's hard to imagine why anyone would pay more than the mixed scrap value for hard disks of unknown history - particularly external ones which may have been dropped while running.

If I were in an organisation looking for secondhand drives for whatever reason, I'd be looking at reclaimed/tested items from ex-corporate desktop PCs, not external drives.
