RM Chief on breakfast TV

The RM chief is going to be on the BBC Breakfast news today and there is a web page somewhere (trying to find it) where you can leave your questions.

So far most of the questions they have read out concern missing parcels, and someone actually asked whether they still employ thieves in the RM (which seemed a bit harsh for this time of the morning). The chief has admitted he doesn't know where all the lost stuff goes, it should go to Belfast but he admits it very often just disappears.

Hi all, don't know if you're aware but there's going to be a change in the way we are charged for posting in a few months. There will be an extra 12p charge for items they class as 'oversized' which could affect some ebayers and those who send slightly larger cards.

Not sure where they stand legally - the way I understand it the first class stamp will remain at current price, but there will be an additional 'handling' fee (12p) for the items that are 'larger' dimension wise.
Personally I'd like to see this stopped as my family live quite a distance away and it would bump up the cost of sending kids drawings etc (unless I folded them, but wouldn't want to spoil them!) not to mention b/day cards etc.

From RM point of view......some ebay people say their parcel gets lost and claims from it even though the recipient has received it! just hope the tracking bit in RM gets better! each postman should have some sort of device that clocks what they have b4 their round!

I wish my postie could read - he's forever posting other peoples mail in with mine, and mine into other peoples! Luckily most of the neighbours are good so we can laugh about it, and he's quite a nice postie. One nearly caused a permanent family rift though. My neighbour had argued with her grand daughter - quite badly I think. Eventually the granddaughter plucked up the courage to try and make ammends by letter - only she very nearly didn't get the note. It was found on the pavement in the street!
