PayPal receiving limit.

I just discovered that PayPal had set a receiving limit for personal account, which is 250 for me. But unfortunately, I am about to receive a payment more than that for my laptop sold on ebay, and the buyer insists in using PayPal. I don't want to upgrade to the premier account from which PayPal will charge a heaven.

Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance.
Val :)

I think you will find that you will need to upgrade your account if you want to continue using PayPal.

No, there is nothing you can do. Also, is your buyer funding the purchase with a credit card? If he/she is then you'd have to upgrade in order to accept that payment anyway.

LIke jenniferpa says if you are running a basic account then you can only take payment from an existing paypal balance anyway. £250 seems very high for someone to leave in their paypal account (much as I like paypal I wouldn't trust them with that much money!) so you would need to upgrade anyway.

Unfortunately that will mean you will be paying the paypal receiving fee on this and every payment in future.
