startup logon password problems

hi,
im not very tech minded so sorry if this has come up before.
I gave my son my old windows xp comp after buying myself a new one. the problem is that he put a log on/start up password on so only he could use it, the problem is now he has forgotten the password and he can not use it.
how can he find or delete the password.
please help hes giving me no piece lol

You are seriously joking me that Windows XP security can be bypassed by pressing F8 during startup?0

You'll find that at least 2/3rds of PCs don't have an 'administrator' password set!
When you go into safe mode it'll bring up the administrator option. So set a password, write it on a sticker and put it on or in your PC in case you forget!
Also even scarier, software is available to remove any password from a 'Win NT' based PC, ie Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP.0 -

Yes, but to use that software you need physical access to the machine, so it's not so bad. Feel free to prove me wrong though... (teach me something I don't know
